Project Overview

At John Jay College, I collaborated with three faculty members to support community-focused academic research projects. These included a judicial legacy analysis, quote tagging for academic publications, and a retrospective study on a public policy initiative in Illinois and NYC.

Each project had a unique scope, varied contributors, and evolving timelines. I acted as the central point of coordination — creating order from ambiguity, setting timelines, managing tasks, and ensuring communication loops stayed clear.

This required managing research assignments, formatting documents, tracking quote usage and research team, flagging potential blockers, and leading structured check-ins with each stakeholder

My Contribution

• Directed day-to day planning for all three research initiatives
• Built and maintained custom project roadmaps using Asana and Smart sheet to track assignments, timelines, and dependencies (with over 90% of milestones delivered on time)
• Facilitated weekly meetings with each professor to walk through timelines, clarify next steps, and reprioritize tasks based on feedback
• Created a lightweight delay tracking system using a shared Google Sheet, where I logged pending tasks, assigned owners, flagged overdue items, and recommended timeline shifts (color-coded for clarity)
• Applied agile aligned practices to improve collaboration, clarity and focus.
